nice quick knit

The Weekend Wrap by Cocoknits is a good first garment for those who are afraid to move beyond accessories.  It’s just one big rectangle with arm armholes!

Made on large needles (size 17), it’s a super fast project.  We used 2 1/2 skeins of Berroco Origami, so it’s a very affordable project too.

Light and airy – there are so many ways to wear this.  Here are a few possibilities:

inspiration…

The season change has many of us asking:  What should I make now?

A shawl?  A light cardigan?  A wispy scarf?

Here are a couple of things Hilary just finished.  They certainly inspire me.

This scarf is knit with Rowan Kidsilk Stripe.  The simple pattern is written on the ball band.  It takes just 1 skein and size 8 needles.

This red scarf/shawl is called Kozue.  It takes 2 skeins of Classic Elite Silky Alpaca Lace and Size 6 needles.

closed for easter sunday…

We’ve had a sample of Sophie the bunny for awhile now, and I’ve been wanting to make one for my friend Lauren’s baby, Sophia.  Well… I finished mine just in time for Easter, and I can’t wait to present it to her.

Until I give it away, it’s keeping company with the pink sample we have in the shop.  Aren’t they sweet together?

We will be closed Sunday, April 8th for Easter.  Wishing everyone a nice holiday weekend.

cuteness!

Just finished our shop sample of Leaf by Spud and Chloe.  It makes the sweetest baby cocoon, swaddle pouch, blanket.

The pattern calls for Spud and Chloe Outer yarn, but we double stranded Blue Sky Alpaca’s Cotton (3 skeins of pickle).  It’s a quick knit on size 15 needles.  Love it!

There are endless button possibilities.  We tried little butterflies in the first photo and a big wood button in this second option.

The shop occasionally hosts special events, book signings, trunk shows, and sales. Private events can also be arranged at the shop by request.

Perhaps you'd like to have a birthday party centered around a knitting lesson. Or a baby shower during which everyone learns to knit a square for a baby blanket. Or a corporate networking event that features knitting instruction. Or a book club that encourages participants to knit while discussing the book. Nina: a well-knit shop is available for these and other special events.
