So excited about the new products we found at TNNA – the fall buying show in Columbus!

Can’t wait to receive them.  Here are a few of the many things we ordered.

Sea Silk is perfect for this beautiful drapey project, the Clapo-Ktus.

Distinctive project bags from Yarn Pop.  Great fabrics!

Metalico by Blue Sky Alpacas, a divine blend of baby alpaca and mulberry silk.

Etched Rio Wrap pattern – can’t wait to cast it on with the Metalico!

7 adorable new patterns from the Royal Petite Collection by Blue Sky Alpacas

Blue Sky Royal Petites

Super BRIGHT colors of Primarily Speaking Superwash Merino Wool from Knitted Wit, a great little hand-dyer in Oregon.

Very inspiring!!

camp nina – session 3

We had a blast at the most recent Summer Camp gathering at the shop on Sunday.

This time there was a scavenger hunt that tested everyones’s knowledge about the yarns we carry.
Congratulations to our contest winner  – Asheley!

Even Capt’n Tightpants enjoyed the smores!

twinsies

Here are Olia and Hilary modeling their Cap Sleeve Lattice Tops.  Looking good!

Olia used Tosh DK in the color ginger for the lattice top section, and Tosh Pashmina in faded chinos for the bottom.

Hilary used Tosh DK in silver fox for the lattice top section, and Wool Dispensary DK in georgia building castles for the bottom.

on the needles now

For a simple summer project I chose Hitchhiker.

It’s portable and easy to keep track of.  A fun knit.

I’m using Malabrigo Sock Yarn, in the color archangel.

camp nina – session 2

Our second session of Summer Camp this past Sunday was lots of fun, and brought us several new Campers.  We were amused (and sometimes shocked) by the tales shared in our contest of scariest knitting-related stories.

Our exhausted Counselors, Hilary & Molly, collapsed at the end of the day.

heidi’s middlefield

Heidi made this beautiful Middlefield Pullover from the book New England Knits.  She used Madelinetosh DK in the rich color Tart.  She modified the neckline into a cowl.  Stunning!

recent arrivals

We’ve just received some super soft yarns.  So, despite these warm days, I’m tempted to start a few fall projects.

Misti Alpaca’s Best of Nature Worsted is a scrumptious 100% alpaca yarn that’s naturally dyed with sources like onions and blue corn.  I think I’ll use it for Millwater or Saroyan.

One of my all time favorite yarns is back in stock – Fibre Company’s Road to China Light.  It’s a luxurious blend of alpaca, silk, camel and cashmere, and it’s ideal for accessories like the Cedar Leaf Shawlette or Autumn Vines, or for the adorable Mignon.

Not sure which project to cast on first.

fun at camp nina!

Yesterday was our first day of Summer Camp at the shop.  Each Sunday in June we’ll gather for knitting fun and laughter.  There will be games and prizes, and at the end of Camp everyone will have a finished project to show off.

Thanks to our counselors – Molly & Hilary!

And thanks to all the campers who joined us yesterday!  What a great group!

The shop occasionally hosts special events, book signings, trunk shows, and sales. Private events can also be arranged at the shop by request.

Perhaps you'd like to have a birthday party centered around a knitting lesson. Or a baby shower during which everyone learns to knit a square for a baby blanket. Or a corporate networking event that features knitting instruction. Or a book club that encourages participants to knit while discussing the book. Nina: a well-knit shop is available for these and other special events.
