closed easter sunday, march 31st

We’ll be closed Sunday, March 31st.

Happy Easter!

Hope you all enjoy your holiday weekend !

perfect baby announcement

Joann recently took a Learn To Knit Class with us.  She was a very quick learner.

Usually new knitters stick with scarves for awhile to improve their skills.  Not Joann. Immediately after making her first project, she was ready to tackle baby booties.

She had exciting news to share, and a hand knit baby bootie would serve as the perfect announcement.

We were thrilled when she shared this with us (and permitted us to share it with you). So wonderfully creative!  Isn’t it fantastic?!

Here’s a link to her blog (and her other lovely images and ideas)

lots to show…

It’s great when people bring in the things they’ve made so I can photograph them and share them here.

We’ve got quite a few completed projects to boast about.

Lindy’s Millwater is stunning!  It’s made with Malabrigo Worsted, which shows the stitch definition beautifully.

Lindy’s Fiddlehead Mitten looks amazing.  The Madelinetosh Pashmina works perfectly with the Road To China Light.   And her color choices are fabulous!

Olia’s Simple Pleasures Hat is fuzzy, soft and warm.  Her yarns were Handmaiden’s Casbah and Rowan’s Kidsilk Haze.  Everyone needs one of these!

Julia’s fair isle hat called En Blekksprut is so beautiful.  I’m crazy about her color combination of Road To China Light’s ruby and smoky quartz.

Amy’s Yummy Mummy Mitts were knit with Blue Sky Alpacas’ Metalico.  They’re a truly luxurious gift for her sister!

Nicole walked out of our Magic Loop Class wearing a great new pair of socks.  She used Malabrigo Sock yarn in the color “turner.”

Tami’s cabled projects look fantastic.  The Westminster Hat and Mitini Mitts are both patterns by Blue Sky Alpacas, knit with Royal Petites yarn.

Lindy’s Puerperium Cardigan is precious!  She used Madelinetosh DK, and her alternating buttons make it even more adorable!

designer, Snowden, visits the shop

Yesterday designer, Snowden, stopped by with her friend Dana.  They joined Cathie and Freddy on the sofa, and knit for awhile.

Here Snowden’s wearing her design, Shirley.  And Dana is wearing a not-yet-released sweater design.  Love them both!

You can find more of Snowden’s projects here, including this nice lace cardigan called Myrtle.

Just in…

Zauberballs, Zauberball 100, & Crazy Zauberballs.
They’re crazy alright… crazy fun!

madelinetosh delivery!

Madelinetosh delivery!

Stunning colors of Pashmina, Lace, Tosh Light, and Tosh DK have arrived (including some we haven’t had before like edison bulb, tomato, volga and stargazing).  Lots of choices!

What’s your favorite Madelinetosh color?

The shop occasionally hosts special events, book signings, trunk shows, and sales. Private events can also be arranged at the shop by request.

Perhaps you'd like to have a birthday party centered around a knitting lesson. Or a baby shower during which everyone learns to knit a square for a baby blanket. Or a corporate networking event that features knitting instruction. Or a book club that encourages participants to knit while discussing the book. Nina: a well-knit shop is available for these and other special events.
