vogue knitting live chicago recap

Thanks to everyone who visited us at

We know that not everyone can make it to this Show

so we thought we’d share a little bit about what

Vogue Knitting Live means for us here at Nina.

The weekend starts with a u-haul full of fixtures and products.

We unload into our empty booth,

and begin to create a mini version of our shop.

After lots of arranging and rearranging, and lots of candy…

We’re all set up and the weekend show begins!

This year we saw many familiar faces.

And we met great new customers too

(including 2 who came all the way from Finland)!

We displayed new yarns and projects

as well as our favorites.

Here’s a look at a few of them…

Want to see and touch them?  They’re all back at the shop!

The best part about Vogue Knitting Live

is interacting with the people who attend.

We felt so lucky to see your smiling faces in our booth,

whether you were shopping or volunteering.

This pic pretty much sums up how we feel about it:

employee Jen with customer Olia

Thank you to everyone!

We look forward to seeing you back at the shop!

great hats from our knit along!

We hosted a Hat Knit Along the past few Sundays, and featured the Extra Slouch Hat by Jane Richmond.

It looks great on everyone – don’t you agree?!

Thanks to Jen, Kristine, Emily, Phyllis & Christine for being such terrific models!

We decided it’s the perfect gender neutral hat too.  Christine plans to share hers with her husband.

One skein of Blue Sky Alpacas Extra will make a hat and a pair of matching mitts.  The Hat Pattern can be purchased at our shop, and it’s available here.  The Mitts Pattern is free at our shop when you purchase the yarn.

shibui mix party – october 22nd

You’re invited to a PARTY!

Wednesday, October 22nd from 5:30-8:00 pm

Shibui yarns and patterns are ideal for mixing and matching.

When you hold together 2 strands of different yarns,

you achieve a wonderfully unexpected fabric.

We’re going to have different swatch and garment examples

that show you the results of mixing fibers.

You can try things on, and then you can knit and play with yarns

to create your own favorite combinations.

Sandy Barnes from Shibui is coming to our shop from Portland, Oregon

to lead this fun event.

There’s a $10 fee to participate (credited toward your purchase of Shibui yarns).

We’ll have special surprises

and we’ll be mixing up margaritas!

Space is limited, so register now by clicking HERE.

Please join us for this fun MIX PARTY!

The shop occasionally hosts special events, book signings, trunk shows, and sales. Private events can also be arranged at the shop by request.

Perhaps you'd like to have a birthday party centered around a knitting lesson. Or a baby shower during which everyone learns to knit a square for a baby blanket. Or a corporate networking event that features knitting instruction. Or a book club that encourages participants to knit while discussing the book. Nina: a well-knit shop is available for these and other special events.
