Does sweater knitting intimidate you? Would you like to tweak your skills? Our Purls of Wisdom Sweater Workshop is perfect for you!

Purls of Wisdom by The Fibre Co. is perfect for newer knitters, or even more advanced knitters who have just been hesitant to tackle a garment! Knit up in an aran weight (we recommend the &Make Aran), you'll really be able to see what you are doing, and you'll move along at a very satisfying pace. This top-down sweater also gives you the option to work with just one color, or up to four. This inclusive pattern is available in nine sizes. Please see below for sizes and yardage requirements.

1 (2, 3, 4, 5)(6, 7, 8, 9)
sizes are called 1-9 and are recommended to fit a chest circumference of (30-32 (34-36: 38-40: 42-44: 46-48: 50-52: 54-56: 58-60: 62-64) in)

Recommended Ease
designed with 2 -4 in of positive ease at chest circumference

Recommended Yarn
5 (5, 5, 6, 6)(7, 7, 8, 8) balls of &Make Aran (50% Highland wool, 50% alpaca, 150 m (164 yd) per 100 g ball)*

* please note you will need additional yarn if you would like to add contrast colors

In this workshop, we will take you through the entire process of making a sweater, and sessions are spaced out over the course of 6 weeks so you have plenty of time to work at your own pace. We will cover everything from gauge swatching, the anatomy of a top-down pullover, increases and decreases, ease and how to achieve desired fit, finishing techniques and blocking, among other purls of wisdom we will have for you!

The fee includes four sessions, the pattern, and instruction. All yarn and supplies will need to be purchased separately (many of you may already have some or most of them).

We are happy to help you prepare for this class, whether it is making sure you have everything you need or helping you pick colors! If we are out of a color you are interested in, please check with us because we may be able to order it for you before the workshop begins.

Students must be comfortable with knitting, purling, casting on and binding off. If students need additional help outside of the four scheduled sessions, please contact us for a private lesson. This workshop is non-refundable and there will be no make-up sessions, so please make sure all four dates work with your schedule before registering.
