Private Lessons

Private lessons are great for small groups or individual attention. A lesson is completely tailored to you, so we can teach anything from any of our classes or anything specific you would like to work on. We will schedule based on your availability and ours.

For knitting and crocheting, a one-on-one lesson is $35 per hour. A semi-private lesson for two is $60 per hour and for three is $85 per hour. Typically only one lesson is needed to get started as a beginner in knitting, crocheting or sewing. Supplies are additional, if needed.

For learning to use a sewing machine, a one-on-one lesson is $40 per hour. A semi-private lesson for two is $65 per hour and for three is $90 per hour. Typically only one lesson is needed to get comfortable on the sewing machine. No supplies are necessary and you can use one of our machines or bring your own.

Our beginner offerings are shown below, however, any of our virtual classes or anything else you want to learn can also be accomplished one-on-one in a lesson. To schedule one, please contact us at 773.486.8996 or [email protected].

Lessons must be pre-paid to book the time slot on our calendar and the instructor. They are non-refundable but may be rescheduled or a store credit given at least 24 hours before the scheduled time slot.

If you are one of our current customers and refer someone to us for a beginner lesson or class, you will be credited 200 loyalty points in our rewards program for each referral. The referral must be a first-timer to our shop. Please contact us for more details on getting enrolled in our loyalty program if you haven't already. Email any referrals to [email protected]

Learn to Knit

We start off our knitting beginners with a simple chunky cowl. It works up quickly and gives you the foundation you need to continue on. The basics learned are casting on, the knit stitch, binding off, seaming, and weaving in ends.

Learn to Crochet

We start off our crochet beginners with a simple chunky cowl as well. It works up quickly and gives you the foundation you need to continue on. The basics learned are foundation chain, single crochet, double crochet, seaming, and weaving in ends.

Learn to Use a Sewing Machine

For those who've never sewn a machine before, we begin with the machine set-up, then begin to sew. The basics learned are winding the bobbin, threading the machine, general machine care, and several types of stitches.

Learn Tunisian Crochet

Tunisian Crochet is like a hybrid of knitting and crocheting. It is ideal for knitters, crocheters, or someone who has yet to try either. You can opt for one skein of yarn to make a single loop (shown above) or two to make an infinity cowl. This cowl also works up quickly and will teach you the basics.
