Try out the punch needle technique you’ve been hearing so much about! Kristin Oldach of KraeO will lead this new and innovative workshop. Punch needling is an art form that uses a hollow needle to create loops of thread on fabric, which results in a textured, tufted rug-like surface one side and an embroidery surface on the other. It is a fun, easy and quick way to create images on fabric to be used for all kinds of decoration. In this workshop, Kristin will start at the beginning and take you through the whole process, which will result in a finished piece for you to take home. The workshop fee includes a frame pre-stretched with monk’s cloth and various colors of rug wool. Punch needles and scissors will be supplied for students to use during the workshop, so you won’t need to bring anything with you. No previous experience is required for you to join us and complete your first punch needle project! $125, all materials included!

Sashiko is a hand-sewing technique that originated in ancient Japan. In Japanese, its name means “little stabs,” which references the simple running stitch that makes up the geometric patterns. No embroidery experience is necessary to give this technique a try! While sipping tea, students will learn to execute the pattern of their choosing and also how to stitch it up once the design is completed. Join us for a casual and relaxing afternoon and learn something new. Your sampler, choice of embroidery floss and needles are all included in the workshop fee. Students will receive 10% off any additional Sashiko supplies after the workshop. $50, all material included!
