Let's Yarn Bomb This Light Post!

We've seen so many inspiring yarn bombing projects everywhere and we can't think of a better time than Pride Month to start working on a colorful display for the light post in front of our shop!

Our most recent inspiration is the talented Jen Geigley, whose photos are shown above. We've collaborated with her before and we love to follow her Instagram account. She and her daughter installed beautiful rainbows all around downtown Des Moines in her home state of Iowa. We need one of these in front of our shop!

We're already working on it, but would love to have your contribution. We are collecting swatches to start sewing together. Anything at least 4" square (thought it doesn't have to be square) or larger works. Maybe it's a part of a sleeve that was never finished, swatches from old projects, or a sampler you'd like to repurpose. It can be crocheted, knit, woven, felted... any piece that can withstand the elements can be included. You can also use stash yarn to make something, or come peruse our stash for something to use.

Feel free to start dropping off swatches at our shop any time! We will continue collecting them until the pole is finished, then we might go looking for other things to decorate. If you have any questions about what will be accepted, go ahead and contact us by replying to this email. There aren't a lot of rules, so let's just have fun with it! Happy Pride, everyone!
